Man, time flies doesn’t it? I can’t believe the common application has already been available for a couple of weeks now. For those of you new to the college admission game, the common application allows you to apply (paying fees to each school) to something like 400 schools across the country. Each school usually has their own supplement to the application, but it is typically short. The standardized information about you or your student is what the “common” part of the application contains. This is really helpful as it can get old filling out the same information over and over again…plus, it creates more opportunities for you to make a mistake…and we don’t want to make any mistakes now do we?
So, get over there and check it out. Any time you spend familiarizing yourself with the application and website, is time well spent. All of the school websites are notorious for crumbling under the load placed on them in the final week of application season. Don’t be one of the casualties of the last minute application rush. Get it it out of the way. As my first boss used to say, “touch the paper once.”
Good Luck!
